I just got a CNC milled crown and it was cool

I needed a crown replacement and my dentist uses the following machine:

4 times harder than older crowns and so much faster with a .2 micron accuracy.

The doc took scans of it with a handheld device inside of my mouth and it was modelled for him right on screen. The doc removed the old crown and cleaned my tooth up and took a couple more scans. He made some adjustments on the model and it went into fabrication. That took about 20 minutes to carve the crazy profiles of a tooth. The material came in a block of IPS e.max made of lithium disilicate and was then purple at the time, it was then put into a mini kiln for curing and came out the same color as my other teeth so it was doing some color matching too. Tooth was then buffed and polished and chemically bonded into place. Then some minor sanding was done.

All in all it was an amazing experience.
